Burquitlam is located in the western part in the City of Coquitlam. This area is made of detached residential, condos and townhomes. In the past few years Burquiltam has undergone zoning changes as seen in the Burquitlam Lougheed Neighbourhood Plan (BLNP).
The BLNP accounts for changes that will happen in the next 20-25 years, and outlines the burquitlam development plan, parks and more. Coquitlam anticipates 9000 – 10,000 new homes that will be build in the coming years.
