Schools In West Coquitlam

West Coquitlam had been modified to Burquitlam and Oakdale neighbourhoods. Although they are technically West Coquitlam, they are known to locals as Burquitlam and Oakdale.

School District 43 – Coquitlam, Port Moody and Port Coquitlam

Burquitlam is part of School District No. 43 (Coquitlam). This school district is the third largest in British Columbia and serves the Tri-Cities. This includes Coquitlam, Port Moody, Port Coquitlam and the villages of Anmore and Belcarra.

There are a few elementary schools that service the Burquitlam ( West Coquitlam) neighbourhoods. These schools are Miller Park Community School, Mountain View Elementary, Roy Stibbs and Lord Baden-Powell Elementary.

Residents will feed into Ecole Banting Middle (English or French Immersion) , or try cross-catchment opportunity at Hillcrest Middle or Como Lake Middle.

High School varies depending on the route that a child has taken. If they have selected to continue with their French Immersion studies, they will continue on to Sir Charles Best Secondary. Other students will go to Port Moody Secondary or try for a cross-catchment opportunity at Centennial High School.
