Coquitlam West Neighbourhood Information

Coquitlam West is a large subarea bordering Burnaby, that has a mix of condos, townhomes, and detached homes.  

This area has undergone a significant redevelopment as the city increases the housing density. The Burnaby-Lougheed Neighbourhod Plan is a multi-year project that will bring 9000-10,000 new homes to the area. There is also a plan to increase the greenspace and expand Cottonwood Park. 

Things to do

If it’s the outdoors you’re after, West Coquitlam has you covered. Home to the Vancouver Golf Club, Como Lake and Mundy Park, and access to Simon Fraser University trails. It’s a transit-oriented community which makes getting anywhere from New Westminster to Downtown Vancouver just a quick trip away. 

The addition of the Bettie Allard YMCA, residents can enjoy a 55,000 square foot facility. An indoor pool, gym, fitness studio and multi purpose space are just a few of the amenities peopel can enjoy.

Cottonwood Park

Features a baseketball court, little library, playground and spraypark. Cottonwood Park is undergoing a major multi-year expansion that began in 2018. New amenities include a softball diamond, soccer field, multi-use sport court, parkour elements, gathering spaces and other amenities.

Mountainview Park ( Hartley Field)
This park was recently renovated with an updated play area. Featureing a large grass field,
Lacrosse Box, Pickleball Court, Sports Library and washrooms
